Bay Associates were commissioned as Civil and Structural Engineers for this key development on the University Hospital of Wales site in Cardiff.

This £16.5m project funded by the Welsh Assembly Government was led by Cardiff University working in partnership with Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust and was completed in February 2010.

This seven storey centre facility was designed in conjunction with Nightingale Architects and achieved BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating. This facility comprises of an IBA Cyclone cyclotron, radio-pharmaceutical research and production laboratories, a Gamma Medical Ideas pre-clinical PET/SPECT/CT scanner and a GE Discovery VCT RX XT PET/CT hybrid scanner.
