A speculative office development for Grosvenor Waterside on Pierhead Street within the prestigious Cardiff Bay regeneration development which achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating.

The original design included four individual buildings of five and six storeys in height and laid out to follow the alignment of Pierhead Street, providing approximately 220,000ft² gross of new, high quality, flexible office space with on site car parking. Building 1 and 2 have been completed to date providing a gross floor area of almost 116,000ft².

The building elevations are predominantly of red smooth faced bricks to reflect the facades of the nearby Pierhead Building, with large areas of curtain walling and windows to allow good daylight penetration. South facing elevations are protected from direct summer sunlight by a steel framework supporting solar shading.

The building entrances and escape stair pods are indentified with terracotta rainscreen cladding to differentiate them from the main elevations. The buildings are capped with an aluminium Kalzip butterfly roof sitting directly over a clear storey band of glazing providing full panoramic views from the top floors.
